Join Casey Trees for an easy paced, 45-minute tree identification walk. We'll meet at 3030 12th St NE and take a leisurely stroll to learn about common DC trees, characteristics, and fun facts. Featured species will include the ancient ginkgo, the distinctive pawpaw, sweetgum, and several other species. We will end our walk at Right Proper Brewery, who will provide a free beer to each participant. We invite you to linger for a chat, a beer, or both!
No prior tree identification experience is necessary; we welcome all to attend and learn about trees in our District.
The newly updated Casey Trees species guides will be available as an add-on when you purchase your ticket online (note: purchase of a species guide is not a ticket for admission). No drink purchase is necessary to participate.
What to expect: An easy walk among a variety of tree species, stopping to identify trees and connect with nature. Species guides will be available to use to identify trees.
Time: Check in will begin at 5:30 pm. The walk will begin at 5:45 and last for approximately 45 minutes.
What to bring: Your own reusable water bottle, comfortable clothing, and comfortable walking shoes. Food will not be provided.
COVID-19 Policy: Casey Trees is now requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend our events. One of the following options will demonstrate proof of vaccination:
- A physical Center for Disease Control (CDC) Vaccination Card
- A digital copy/photo of a CDC Vaccination Card
- A COVID-19 Verification App such as VaxYes or CLEAR
Please bring a photo ID and one of the above listed options to provide proof of vaccination. You may not be asked to show proof of vaccination during our outdoor event, however you may need to show proof of vaccination to use any indoor facilities.

We will be meeting at 3030 12th St NE, Washington D.C. 20017, Casey Trees Headquarters.
Public Transportation: The closest Metro station is the Brookland CUA Metro Stop, along the red line.
Biking: The location is accessible by bike. Bikes may be locked to nearby structures.
Parking: Limited, free street parking is available nearby.
