The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

<p>Born on the streets of San Francisco in the early 70's, The Medicine Ball Band continues containing top level musicians and always hanging on to roots from New Orleans. For this year's Mardi Gras we'll feature Rhonda Benin vocalist ; Leon Joyce Jr- drums; John Hunt- trombone, washboard and vocals; from New Orleans John Stafford- clarinet, sax, flute and vocals; Luke Kirley- tuba;  Anton Patzner - violin, whistling &amp; vocals; Kazeem Elebute - euphonium; David Sturdevant- guitar, banjo, harmonica and vocals;  Charlie Hickox - piano &amp; vocal;  and Geechi Taylor -trumpet and vocals</p>
