Lunar New Year Practice ::: Harnessing Focus Through Stillness

Elika Aird, Owner of BlissfulBodies Yoga and Birth Services, RYT, Birth/Postpartum Doula,  has been surrounded by fitness, dance and wellness from a very young age. Before teaching yoga, she taught various fitness classes and salsa dancing throughout Northern California and Atlanta. She later expanded her fitness training to specialize in various styles of yoga and teaching at corporate locations like Coca-Cola, Turner Broadcasting Systems, and most recently she has returned to the San Francisco Bay Area teaching at Google and Stanford University. Elika stumbled upon the path of yoga in 2000 when she injured her back and was so desperately looking for relief from pain and the feeling of being disconnected from her body. She later found not only her body growing stronger, but her mental and spiritual connection deepening as a result of this practice. After many years of frustration trying to find balance through various practices, she can now be grateful for this period of rehabilitation because it allowed her to learn to be more patient, present and find peace despite the circumstances. She also believesher dharma (purpose) is to encourage people to heal their back pain or any other part of their bodymindspirit that is calling them back to freedom, vitality, and BLISS again. Elika brings yoga and meditation to corporations, community centers, housing communities, parks, street fairs, dance clubs, AND yoga studios around the Bay Area...AND now Virtually as of March 2020!

<h2><strong>Join Elika Aird  to welcome the Lunar Year, which is Year of the Water Tiger in Chinese Astrology. The tiger is known for its strength, focus, great power, but also her ability to rest and restore during the day, in order to hunt at night. Let's harness this type of awareness as we  begin this year (again), listening and tuning into the sweet rhythms of the earth, asking us to be in-tuned with her, before we set our eye on our goals or our visions. Let us find "peace in every step" and each mindful breath, so that when turbulence brews within or without,  we may keep our heads held high and move forward with clarity, love and wisdom and a deep connection to the  Eye...the Divine...or God. </strong></h2><h2><strong>Join me for an ALL levels/abilities practice with  gentle flowing movments to connect with the primal energy within us all, meditation to awaken the 3rd eye, and ending with yoga nidra (yogic sleep) to release and tap into your creative wisdom + power. Please bring 1-2 blankets/pillows/bolster and a journal for writing and an open heart. </strong></h2><h2><strong>Do not worry you will be tired ( unless you are severely sleep deprived). You will be revitalized and ready to start/continue your day with a fresh and NEW perspective! </strong></h2>
