Dave Landau might appear to be just like you, but he’s not really. His mind goes to places that angels would fear to tread, and he has no problem telling you about it. The mark of a great comedian, it is said, is the ability to find jokes where others would find tears. Dave finds jokes everywhere; with his own foibles and faults, to his family, to pop culture and the state of the world today.

Cutting his comedic teeth as a teenager in Detroit in the Second City’s Conservatory, Dave Landau has risen to become one of the most in-demand headliners working today. He’s appeared 5 times on Comedy Central’s and AXS.TV’s “Live At Gotham” and was a finalist on season 8 of “Last Comic Standing” on NBC. He became a regular on the extremely popular “The Artie Lange and Anthony Cumia Radio Show,” and was honored to be brought in full time as 3rd mic. When Artie left the program, It became “The Anthony Cumia Show with Dave Landau”, where Dave became a valued member of the broadcast as co-host for two years.

At a time when too many musicians treat their instruments as simple props, he&#x27;s a total original (and maybe a freedom fighter, too): an artist determined to explore the entire expressive latitude of his acoustic guitar, and to coax as many different sounds and moods from it as he can. In his hands, the guitar is a magic wand, a lightning rod, a stick to conjure the storm. It was the chase for that distinctive, personal sound that compelled Hughes to leave the Lumineers -- and he&#x27;s never looked back since. Under his own name, he&#x27;s put out three collections of his distinctive songwriting -- and a fourth is on the way. He&#x27;s been busy with other projects, too: his guitar and bass are the bedrock of Edison&#x27;s acclaimed album Familiar Spirit. And in 2013, he was officially sponsored by Larrivee, the company that manufactures the acoustic guitars he plays. They know what the rest of the country is finding out: there&#x27;s no better advertisement for guitars, and musicianship, and artistic innovation than the music that Maxwell Hughes has already made. As for the music he&#x27;s going to make next?, well, watch out.”
