Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX)

Draw inspiration from your surroundings and community for creative writing and map-making!

In February, PLIX will host the first-ever workshop on our new <a href="https://plix.media.mit.edu/activities/spatial-poetry-beta" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Spatial Poetry </a>activity!Join us Thursday, February 17th, from 12:00-1:00PM ET to explore ways to combine creative-writing, map-making, and social justice. This workshop will focus on creating found or erasure poems, deriving poetry from place-names and the language on maps. We’ll use this hour for hands-on co-tinkering, working with fellow members of the PLIX community to make spatial poems. No previous experience is necessary!This workshop will be held via Zoom, but is hands-on! To participate, bring a few different printed maps (historical and contemporary both work--a combination is even better!) to create your own found poems.
