The Walden School,founded in 1972, is a summer music school, camp, and festival offering programs that emphasize creativity and community, specifically through the study of composition, musicianship, improvisation, and choral singing. In residence on the beautiful campus of theDublin Schoolin Dublin, New Hampshire, Walden provides an inspiring retreat-like environment ideal for creative music making.The Walden School's programs include theYoung Musicians Programfor students ages 9 to 18, and theCreative Musicians Retreatfor adults. The School's Concert Series showcases free public performances by renowned artists and ensembles that work closely with program participants.The Walden School has twice been awarded a Chamber Music America/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award, has won a New Music Educator Award from the American Music Center (now New Music USA), has been a finalist for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, and in 2017, was awarded a Ewing Arts Award. The Walden School is the successor organization to the Junior Conservatory Camp. Join us for an online, interactive information session led by Walden’s Executive Director, Seth Brenzel, alongside Young Musicians Program faculty members.Part school, part camp, and part festival, the Walden School Young Musicians Program convenes each summer for five weeks in the beautiful Monadnock region in Dublin, New Hampshire. Through rigorous and innovative daily instruction, students hone their musical and creative skills within a supportive community of like-minded peers and mentors, with a goal of improvising and composing original works.This event is open to prospective students, music teachers, and anyone else who would like to learn more about Walden's award-winning music programs. Walden School Information Sessions take place over Zoom video call. Information to access the call will be shared with registered attendees via e-mail no later than 24 hours before the event.
