St. Valentine&#x27;s Day is approaching. It is appropriate to examine the crimes of love. To this our German film series offers Joseph von Sternberg&#x27;s 1930 masterpiece &quot;The Blue Angel&quot; in The Crown Room, first Thursday, February 3. Lust, humiliation and despair come to torment professor Immanuel Rath after encountering the seductive Lola dancing in a seedy dive in an unnamed northern city. Consumed by jealousy and desire, Rath&#x27;s destiny can only be madness. Maybe our unfortunate protagonist is on to something though. Maybe romantic love is the delusion. Maybe obsession is the only love that counts...Doors open at 6:30pm Showing begins at 7pm$20.00 ticket includes: discussion with Dr. Katrina Nousek, showing of The Blue Angel, popcorn and sweet treat! Full bar available. Reservations required and gratuity not included.
