The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

If you need some cheap fun ($5!), come on out for big laughs and cast your vote for the bay area&#x27;s Best Pretty Good New Comic. We have a great lineup of new up and coming standup comedians competing for cash, prizes, and a paid spot on a future First Friday comedy showcase. Lucky audience members will win fun raffle prizes as well!Food and beverages available for purchase.Proof of Covid vaccination required at the door. All staff and comedians vaccinated. Must mask when not eating or drinking. Audience votes for their top 3 comedians by hidden ballot, final decision made by Standup Broadway Presents. Must be present to win. We regularly host a Stand Up Broadway show on the 1st Friday of each month that features the BEST of local, national and international talent. Now we are in search of the best of new talent. Winners will be selected to move on to future performances in Stand Up Broadway and in an upcoming Variety show.
