24th Framework Forum

The Oregon Geographic Information Council and Geospatial Enterprise Office (GEO) coordinate with government agencies to develop and manage geographic information across Oregon. They guide development of Oregon's GIS data standards and work to ensure Framework geospatial data assets are maintained to the highest level possible. Working together with state, federal, and local governments, OGIC and GEO are improving the geographic information available. GEO also serves as the State's point of contact for geographic information and GIS and is part of theOffice of the State Chief Information Officer.

<P>The 24th Framework Forum will feature a presentation by Rebekah <SPAN>Rafferty, Education Director, of the <A HREF="https://www.gorgediscovery.org/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Discovery Center URL" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Columbia Gorge Discovery Center &amp; Museum</A>. Rebekah will present <SPAN>about the Columbia River Gorge from a geographic lens, weaving geology into landform-climate dynamics that result in our gradient of vegetative communities and wildfire regimes (touching on Eagle Creek as an example of our high severity fire regime), and implications for how human communities are distributed within the Gorge. </SPAN></SPAN>At the Forum you will also learn about new and ongoing activities by the <A HREF="https://www.oregon.gov/geo/Pages/fit.aspx" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="FIT webpage" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Framework Implementation Team</A> community, <A HREF="gis.oregon.gov" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Geospatial Enterprise Office</A> staff, Framework program developments, and more! The <A HREF="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XodcGiGjhWzzckDM0kfjv1FJxBO-LCm5" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="program" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">program </A>starts at 9:00 AM but the room will be open at 8:30 AM for networking. </P>
<P>The Oregon GIS Framework is the geospatial data backbone for Oregon's spatial data infrastructure known as <A HREF="https://www.oregon.gov/geo/Pages/gisutility.aspx" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="navigatOR" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><EM>navigatOR</EM></A>. The Oregon GIS Framework is composed of key data elements that have been identified by a wide array of partners, participants, and stakeholders from across the entire Oregon GIS community as fundamental for meeting their business, research, and other basic operations. <SPAN>The purpose of the Framework is to facilitate the delivery of critical services to residents and maximize public investment in transforming data into useable information. <P>Please register by Thursday, March 14, if you would like to join us for lunch. There is no charge but your registration will help us with the catering order. </P>
<H4><STRONG>What do I bring to the event?</STRONG></H4>
<P>Bring an open mind and positive energy. There will be space to display maps &amp; posters, but please indicate your plans to bring a poster when you register.</P>
<H4><STRONG>Can I attend remotely? Do I need to register?</STRONG></H4>
<P>Yes and yes, please! Register by choosing the RSVP - no lunch ticket option. <H4><STRONG>What are my parking options at the event?</STRONG></H4>
<P>There is plenty of onsite parking.</P>
<H4><STRONG>Will a shuttle from Salem be provided?</STRONG></H4>
<P>Transportation from Salem will be provided if there is sufficient interest. Please <A HREF="https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A4CA5A829A2FD0-carpool" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">sign up to participate in the shuttle</A>.  </P>

<P>Arrive early for coffee, tea, and light snacks beginning at 8:30 AM. Lunch will be provided to those who registered by the deadline. Coffee and tea will also be served after lunch. Vegetarian options are available. For other dietary restrictions, please contact Theresa Burcsu (theresa.burcsu(at)oregon.gov).<BR></P>
<H4><STRONG>The registration deadline has passed but I want to attend. What do I do?</STRONG></H4>
<P>You can register for the Forum until two days before the event, but your registration won't include food. </P>
