During this workshop and through hands-on exercises you will learn the foundations of takt planning and how they relate to LPS®.

<p>The vPlanner team and P2SL are once again pleased to offer the on-site takt planning workshops. The workshop features 2-days of hands-on learning, including simulations, discussion, and problem-solving. Attendees will leave with an appreciation of how takt enables lean thinking and how it gives focus to continuous improvement efforts. Attendees will also leave with a solid understanding of how takt fits in the overall framework of the Last Planner System® and how it can improve flow on projects.</p><p>Takt Planning (TP) is a work structuring method that enhances the Last Planner System®. TP improves resource and material flow and reliability by aligning the cycle time of the various processes within the production system so that the resulting plan can meet its overall objectives set by the takt calculation. TP reduces variability by setting a predictable production rate for activities across right-sized geographic work areas (smaller and repeatable batches). This highly disciplined planning approach allows teams to align their project supply chain work with the site&#x27;s needs. It results in an easy-to-manage pull production system that produces what is needed when it is required.</p><h3>Agenda:</h3><p><strong>Day 1</strong> features a hands-on simulation designed to teach the principles of takt and how it fits in the overall framework of the Last Planner System®.  Through hands-on exercises and discussion, participants will understand takt planning and its relation to lean thinking.</p><p><strong>Day 2</strong> features an application of the principles to implement takt on a project.  Participants will work in groups to develop a takt plan from a set of drawings. They will learn the best practices for work structuring, phase planning, takt analysis, crew balancing, and how to apply them in real-world situations.</p><h3>Fees (Early Registration)<strong>: </strong></h3><p>The general registration fee is $750 for one day or $1400 for both days.   After March 18th the registration fee is $850 for one day and $1500 for both days.</p><p><strong>Discounts: </strong>Discounts are available for current vPlanner users, active P2SL members, and group registrations. Please ask for the discount codes before you register by emailing semdanat@ghafari.com (available through March 18th).</p><h3>Continuing Education Credits: </h3><p>Participants in the workshop may qualify for 15.0 CM-Lean CE credits from the AGC of America toward the renewal of AGC&#x27;s Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean).</p><h3>Learning Objectives</h3><ul><li>Understand the fundamental concepts of Takt Planning.</li><li>Learn how to create Takt Plans and improve the flow of work.</li><li>Understand how Takt Planning can be implemented within the larger context of the LPS.</li><li>Gain an understanding of when to best apply Takt Planning</li><li>Gain hands-on experience with implementing Takt on a project.</li></ul><h2><strong>FAQs</strong></h2><p><strong>Who should attend?  </strong>This workshop is for practitioners involved in pre-project planning or execution, including project executives, project managers, superintendents, schedulers, foremen, design managers, owners, estimators, and procurement managers. </p><p><strong>What is the Covid-19 policy? </strong>We want everyone to be safe attending this event as we will be working closely together during the simulations.  Participants must comply with all applicable Covid-19 protocols in California, the City of Berkeley, and the Berkeley campus.  While those requirements may change, our current understanding is that attendees must wear a mask, and, be fully vaccinated or provide a negative PCR test result for a test taken within 72 hours of the event&#x27;s start.  Please let us know beforehand if you require an exception. </p><p><strong>How can I contact the organizer with any questions? </strong>Please contact Samir Emdanat (semdanat@ghafari.com) for any questions regarding this event, or receive applicable discount codes before you purchase tickets.</p><p><strong>What&#x27;s the refund policy? </strong>Refunds are available for reasons that are out of your control (like contracting covid-19). If you register but find later that you cannot attend, you may ask a colleague in your company to take your place.  Refund requests made in the 10-days leading to the event may be subject to a fee to cover any committed cost to the event venue and food.</p><p><strong>Is my registration fee or ticket transferable? </strong>Yes. You can have anyone take your place in the event of a last-minute conflict.</p><p><strong>Is it OK if the name on my ticket or registration doesn&#x27;t match the person who attends? </strong>Yes, but please let us know ahead of time, if feasible, so that we have the names correctly printed on participant badges.</p>
