The Photographic Resource Center (PRC) is a vital forum for the exploration, interpretation, and celebration of new work, ideas, and methods in photography. We inspire our members and the broader community with thought-provoking exhibits, educational programs, wide-ranging resources, and unique special events that support the advancement of the photographic arts. Founded in 1976, the PRC is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that the Boston Globe has cited as “one-stop shopping for the photo buff.” The Photographic Resource Center (PRC) will not, in any circumstances, share your personal information with other individuals or organizations without your permission, including public organizations, corporations or individuals, except when applicable by law. We do not sell, communicate or divulge your information to any mailing lists.

<p>Photographer and author Chester Higgins was born in Alabama in 1946. His experiences with his family’s church community and with college campus student protests were formative in developing the direction of his artistic practice. Higgins’ oeuvre portrays the dignity of the African American and African diasporic communities all over the world.</p><p>The PRC Speaker Series is designed to address the diversity of practice in the field of image making and the complex relationships between art, culture, identity, politics, and belonging in the contemporary world.</p>
