Artist collective Have you eaten yet? &amp; community charity Vietnamese Family Partnership (Gia Đình Việt) are proud to present LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL 2022: a weekend of festivities, art workshops &amp; performances taking place across Deptford.This is the booking page for the arts &amp; craft workshops we&#x27;re running specifically for children &amp; young people in the community:To help children &amp; young people prepare for Sunday&#x27;s traditional festival, social practice artist Youngsook Choi from Have you eaten? Collective, and local artist &amp; illustrator Chery Nguyen, will be leading the workshops where participants will learn how to make various Lunar New Year-themed decorations. Activities include:- calligraphy practice for the Lai See messages (red envelopes for lucky coins)- conical hat making - &amp; community shrine decorationsAges: Activities are ideal for ages 6+, but we&#x27;re happy to have along younger children with assistance from parents or carersFollowing the workshop, participants can choose to either take their projects home, or display them in the gallery.Throughout the month of February, an exhibition consisting of traces and objects from the weekend’s activities &amp; youth art workshops will be installed in the windows of Deptford X Gallery for passersby to enjoy, honouring the entire month of Lunar New Year.Health &amp; Safety:To help us maintain COVID guidelines &amp; keep our audiences safe, the festival is FREE but pre-booking required via Eventbrite, or by contacting hyeycollective@gmail.com.
