Our initiatives expand access to and celebrate the creativity of animated shorts and would not be possible without your generous support!

We had a solid response to the screenings this weekend. The galleries were packed and so many people included the screenings in their visits to the Speed. After each of the screenings, the audiences burst into applause. This doesn't happen often at screenings. - Dean Otto, Curator of Film, Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY

Several people came up after the screenings to thank us for showing such a great program. - Genevieve Schwartz, Assistant Director, Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque

Without this generosity of consideraable time and professional level skills, it would have been impossible for these restorations to have been completed! Thank you all very much!

THE ANIMATION SHOW OF SHOWS founded and curated by Ron Diamond, has been presenting new and innovative short films to animation studios, societies, schools and festivals around the world. Over the years, 41 of the films showcased in the Show of Shows went on to receive Academy Award® nominations, with 11 films winning the Oscar®. The only downside was that only a relatively small number of people, primarily in the professional animation community, had the opportunity to see these cinematic gems in a theatrical setting. In 2015, the 17th edition was expanded to include public screenings in cities around the world, allowing general audiences to experience these singular works of art on the big screen, as they were intended to be seen.

This first public program in 2015 was the biggest in the show’s early history, including 435 screenings in 50 cities in the U.S., Canada, Poland, Spain, South Africa, and Australia. Also for the first time, many of the films were paired with originally produced revealing documentary portraits of a number of the directors that illuminated the motivation, process and experiences that led them to make their films. The 17th Annual Animation Show of Shows continued it's release with public showings in Australia, Denmark, Egypt, India, Poland and now in it's 23rd edition, the Show plays in over 100 theaters across North America and at over 60 universities and colleges. Please contact Ron.Diamond@AnimationShowofShows.org if you would like to help facilitate a showing of the program in any new place, including college campuses and in foreign lands.

We welcome Volunteers and college interns, both locally in our offices in Los Angeles as well as remotely.
