Join us at the Idaho State Museum for a documentary film  screening and panel discussion in observation of the Day of Remembrance.

Waitlist registrants are not guaranteed admission to the event.**Join us at the Idaho State Museum for a screening of the documentary film Alternative Facts: The Lies of Executive Order 9066 in observation of the Day of Remembrance. Help us commemorate the 80th anniversary of E.O. 9066 which authorized the forced removal and mass incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII.The one-hour film will be followed by a panel discussion with director Jon Osaki and local community leaders. Film Summary: Alternative Facts: The Lies of Executive Order 9066 by Jon Osaki is a documentary feature film about the false information and political influences which led to the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans. The film exposes the lies used to justify the mass incarceration and the cover-up that went all the way to the United States Supreme Court. The film also examines the parallels to the current climate of fear, attitudes towards immigrant communities, and similar attempts to abuse the powers of the government.Presented in partnership with Friends of Minidoka, Minidoka National Historic Site, Boise State University, Idaho State Museum, and the Boise Valley JACL.
