Community clean-up, tour of the Historic Ashview Heights Community, and fireside chat to celebrate Dr. King's Dream.

Join us as we clean up and tour (with Strive Transit) the Ashview Heights Community, the 1st planned African-American community in the City of Atlanta, established in 1920.⁣ Come visit where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated many years to his education and activism!We will also gather after service, around the bonfire, for a Fireside Chat discussing black food systems and “What Dr. King Jr. would do?” to advance the mission.⁣⁣SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:<ul><li>10AM - 2PM: Ashview Heights Community Clean-Up</li><li>10AM - 1PM: Hourly Tours of Ashview Heights ($25/pp)</li><li>3PM - 7PM: Fireside Chat (featuring The Everybody Eats Together Team)</li></ul>WORK ENVIRONMENT: Each volunteer will be sitting, bending, or standing outside for at least 1 to 2 hours. It’s forecasted to be between 50 - 55 degrees when we’re serving.Read below for attire guidance and suggestions:<ul><li>Long Sleeve Shirts</li><li>Long Pants (no ripped pants or stylish jeans; they are not safe to work in, nor will they stay clean)</li><li>Tennis Shoes/Work Boots</li><li>Hoodies/Sweatshirts</li></ul>Remember, you are representing Everybody Eats Together. We want you to wear your get-dirty clothes, but just remember that large holes, inappropriate slogans, or any revealing attire is not permitted (both for your safety and the organization’s image).**We are limiting registration to 20 individuals due to the safety of everyone**#EverybodyEatsTogether #EverybodyEatsATL #BlackFoodSystems #BlackFoodSystemsMatter
