We’re excited to invite you to the second program of our 2022 Member Meeting series! The series will take place in-person in July, September, and December, alternating between the Milwaukee and Madison areas. These USGBC Wisconsin events will convene members and stakeholders who make sustainable, healthy, resilient, and equitable buildings a reality in our community. Each will include a brief welcome from local leadership to make sure you&#x27;re aware of the amazing things happening with USGBC, highlight recently certified projects, and then dive into the main program exploring a critical industry topic. <h3>Wellness and Sustainability</h3>It’s no secret that green buildings can promote health and well-being, and the pandemic only further highlighted the importance of this longstanding green building value. Join us in Madison along with our program partners, American Family Insurance and Strang, as we discuss why and how their organizations intentionally deploy green building strategies that simultaneously preserve resources and protect the environment for human benefit in the long term. In this unique program, we will shake up the typical meeting format and split the group into two for rotating mini tours and talks that will showcase LEED and WELL certified spaces in The Spark and Gebhardt Buildings. <h3>This program has been reviewed and approved by GBCI for 2 CE Hour(s) for the following specialties LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C, LEED Green Associate, WELL AP. During the first round, one group will join American Family in the Spark, and the second group will join Strang in their office. The groups will then switch locations for round two.<ul><li>2:20pm – Transition to the rotating mini tours &amp; talks. </li><li>2:30 – First round begins</li><li>3:05 – Transition to 2nd round</li><li>3:15 – Second round begins</li><li>3:50 – Transition to Miron&#x27;s Madison Office</li><li>4:00pm – Happy Hour and Networking at Miron Construction&#x27;s Madison Office</li><li>5:00pm - Adjourn</li></ul><h3>Learning Objectives:</h3><ul><li>Identify the concepts of the WELLv2 Building Standard and recognize the benefits of investing for health and a more sustainable future.</li><li>Describe the WELLv2 Building Standard certification process.</li><li>Analyze the crosswalks between the green building system LEEDv4 and WELLv2 Building Standard.</li><li>Illustrate how a built environment, its occupants, and its programming can symbolize one aspect of an organization’s Corporate Responsibility efforts and how a company can show up in the world as leaders in sustainability, inclusion, and community building.</li><li>Demonstrate the important role third-party certifications, such as LEEDv4, play in the rapidly evolving world of Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) reporting and initiatives.</li></ul><h3>Featured Speakers:</h3>Elizabeth Churchill, LEED AP BD+C, American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact Beth brings her sustainability, corporate responsibility and systems thinking expertise to engage with community partners around climate justice, equity and community resilience. Beth is a seasoned Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability strategist with over 30 years as a sustainability, corporate responsibility, landscape architect and urban planning professional. She is the co-founder of American Family Insurance Corporate Responsibility program, is an International Certified Sustainability Professional, a licensed Landscape Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional. She has a Social Innovation and Sustainability Leadership Graduate Certificate from Edgewood College and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently serves as the Climate and Community Resilience strategic partnerships liaison for the American Family Institute for Corporate and Social Impact. Beth served on the core team for the dreaming of the American Family Institute for Corporate and Social Impact. Housed in the Spark building, the Institute is doing what’s right for our communities by focusing on partnerships and projects that positively contributes to society with measurable impact. She also served on the core team for the visioning, design and delivery the Spark Building and played a key role in the successful pursuit of all three of the buildings LEED Certifications. Constance Nankee, NCIDQ, WRID, IIDA, WELL AP, Senior Interior Designer, Strang Inc. Constance takes a thoughtful approach to creating sustainable branded environments that support her client’s success. Each space and experience emulate the client&#x27;s vision and competitive advantage with a focus on occupant health and well-being. She analyzes projects from beginning to end, incorporating your needs functionally at the beginning, to designing architecturally, spatially, and aesthetically. Design is about the end user’s experience in your space, and Constance is dedicated to elevating that experience to the highest potential.
