Pola Baytelman: A Pianist’s Musical Journey through the Americas and EuropeChilean-born pianist Pola Baytelman dives deep into the heart of the music she performs. A Steinway Artist, her playing has been characterized as “formidable” and having a “diaphanous touch”. Known for her performances of music by Spanish and Latin American composers, Baytelman keeps the composer’s intent foremost with her effortless technique, and sparkling articulation reminiscent of the legendary Alicia de Larrocha.The diverse program will include compositions by Romantic composer Charles Alkan (French), Pedro Humberto Allende (Chile), Paul Schoenfield (USA), Felix Mendelssohn (Germany), Villa-Lobos (Brazil) and a composition written for her by Welsh/American composer Hilary Tann.Free and open to the public.
