The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

Monfort is a name that you will hear for years to come! Pre-pandemic we were wowed by this group. We have rescheduled this event several times as we rode out the waves of Covid. FINALLY, he&#x27;s back.French pianist Alex Monfort honors his jazz heroes who inspire him - Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, but Monfort makes his own statements here. This is modern jazz piano trio that brings the legacy of jazz into the 21st Century.Monfort will be appearing with Robby Marshall. Described as “innovative and highly inventive” by the LA Weekly, Robby Marshall is a saxophonist, woodwind artist, composer and bandleader from the San Francisco bay area.Also performing are Owen Benjamin and Matthew Buckner.
