No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. The Hive: A Center for Contemplation, Art, and Action

Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Kitchen Table Printmaking: Embracing Creative Process</h2><h3>Domain: Creative Expression</h3><p>Printmaking is full of surprise, mystery and delight. Making one of a kind, serendipitous prints, using everyday objects will help participants to enter into "creative flow." We will experiment with simple, elegant forms of printmaking using cardboard, natural objects, office supplies and kitchen implements. You will produce collage papers and monoprints and be encouraged to use them as a jumping off point for further art exploration, art journaling and more. As a group we will discuss the importance of embracing surprise, the unexpected, going with the flow and remaining open as reflected in our printmaking experience. If you are looking for a hands-on way of opening up to creative, intuitive art work, this workshop is for you.</p><p>Special Supplies: An 8x10 gelli plate will be needed for the workshop, the instructor will have ones available for purchase at the workshop for $20 a piece. If you have your own, please bring it with you.</p><p>Barb Smucker has a BA in Art and Psychology from Baldwin Wallace College and an MA in Student Personnel and Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She is currently a studio artist in her new home studio where she practices art almost every day. You can learn more about Barb’s creative journey on Instagram @barbsmuckerstudio. Barb has taught countless art classes and workshops throughout the region. Barb strives to create a safe and fun atmosphere in the classroom and encourages students to tap into their personal creativity.</p><h3>COVID Considerations:</h3><h3>Since the "we space" of the Hive is a community effort, it is important to us that we partner to make our space as safe as possible to the most vulnerable among us. The intent is to live out a core value of the Hive, which is the co-creation of the common good. </h3><h3>Because of this, it is our policy to require masks regardless of vaccination status for this event. In addition, we ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a high temperature to not attend until they are recovered. </h3><h3>We trust that if you are in community with us that you will join this shared intention.
