Find your people, Find your practice. We are a place where community and contemplation meet. No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. Many who encounter the Enneagram would describe their next steps this way…</p><p>Learning about my type is like moving from</p><p>&quot;Yay, I feel found!&quot;</p><p>To &quot;Ouch, I feel found out!&quot;</p><p>To the Suffering of feeling unable to change...</p><p>To the Self-compassion of discovering the hidden wholeness that my type has been hiding...</p><p>To the Freedom of growing to accept all 9 types as parts of a whole life.</p><p>Which step do you need to take next?</p><p>The Enneagram of Personality is a map of 9 types that describe unique ways that we receive the world and present ourselves in life. Our leading type represents the personality we’ve formed and practiced in order to get along in what is an unpredictable world. Because of this, the Enneagram is actually less about “who I am” and more an indicator of “how I have been” and this broader perspective opens up opportunities and pathways to grow through personal awareness and compassion. It leads to greater empathy for others and learning how to care beyond our hidden habits of reactivity. The Enneagram provides a roadmap with which we can recognize what our longer journey could look like, when we apply it within the context of our broader contemplative life.</p><p>This class is great for learning your type more deeply, or learning alongside others as they discover their type. You’ll develop empathy beyond your point-of-view, as well as self-compassion. The Hive regularly offers advanced Enneagram courses and this workshop provides a good foundation to get the most out of those future offerings. If you do not already know your leading type you may reach out to niki@cincyhive.org for testing guidance and/or to schedule a typing interview. </p><p>The Saturday experience will include:</p><ul><li>A brief history and overview of the Enneagram </li><li>Differentiating head types, heart types, and gut types </li><li>Deciphering assertive, withdrawn, and dependent stances </li><li>Learning how to recognize and be compassionate toward my type in action </li><li>Learning about “wings&quot; and the arrows of integration and disintegration </li><li>Contemplative Practices for your type </li><li>Space to consider next steps toward self-compassion, empathy, and integration.</li></ul><p>Our time together will include small and large group teaching and a narrative Enneagram guest panel where you’ll learn from the lived experiences of all 9 types. </p><p>Niki Pappas has been a serious student of the Enneagram for several years and received her Narrative Enneagram Practitioner Certification in early 2021. She uses the Enneagram in her holistic coaching practice and has completed well over 50 typings. Niki has created numerous presentations and workshops that explore this rich system and powerful tool for self-awareness, personal growth, and compassionate presence. Niki has been part of the Hive community since early 2018, facilitating a wide variety of courses, guiding cohorts, and serving on the Lead Team since early 2020.</p><p>Troy Bronsink is Founder of The Hive. He has been working with the Enneagram for 20+ years as a spiritual director, transformational leadership coach, published author, facilitator and minister from the Protestant, Presbyterian Christian lineage. In both secular and faith-based settings, Troy’s work has been to build spiritual depth within creatives, activists, and entrepreneurs. Troy has presented at Creative Mornings, 99U, and TEDx’s Innovation Alley and is a member of the Living School at Albuquerque&#x27;s Center for Action and Contemplation. He lives with his wife and two kids in Northside.</p><h3>COVID Considerations: Consistent with new CDC guidance, masks are no longer required indoors at The Hive.
