About this event

Join IndyNAWIC with speakers Chase Smith, Vice President of Market Rate Development, TWG and Geoffrey DeSmit, Associate Partner, StudioAXIS, as we learn about the upcoming 21c Museum Hotel project.

TWG Development, in partnership with 21 Museum Hotels, will transform the Indianapolis Old City Hall, a vacant historic landmark, into a mixed-use destination. Neighboring the Old City Hall to the north, a new tower will hold apartments, condos, and 21c hotel rooms. Construction on the redevelopment is slated to begin at the end of 2024 with a total project investment of over $140 million.

TWG and 21c’s investment in this remarkable landmark is an outstanding opportunity for the city of Indianapolis. Art collectors Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson founded 21c Museum Hotels in 2006 and in several other cities, these hotels consist of contemporary art galleries that function as lobbies, restaurants, and event spaces. Here in Indianapolis, the art galleries will open the Old City Hall to the public again and will extend to the hotel rooms in the new tower next door.

Members and guests (men & women) are encouraged & welcome to attend!

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more.
