Self Help Graphics & Art proudly presents Pavel Acevedo's solo exhibition, The Shell in the Clouds (El caparazón de las nubes).

Self Help Graphics and Art is proud to present The Shell in the Clouds (El caparazón de las nubes), Pavel Acevedo's culminating exhibition opening on Friday, December 10 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. In his exhibition, Pavel invites audiences into an environment filled with images exploring migration and adaptation conveyed through mythical Zapotec stories shared by the artist's elders. The exhibition will be open to the public December 10, 2021 - Feb. 19, 2022. As the inaugural resident artist for SHG's <a href="https://www.selfhelpgraphics.com/beyondthepress" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Beyond the Press</a>, Pavel began his residency in early 2020, which came to a sudden halt due to the pandemic in March of that year. However, this pause did not conclude his residency or deter his creativity or engagement with the Boyle Heights community in 2021.RSVP on Eventbrite to celebrate the exhibition and the culmination of his year-long residency! We also encourage you to RSVP to Pavel’s last Open Studio taking place on Thursday, December 16.NOTE: In accordance with City of Los Angeles municipal code, Self Help Graphics will need to verify proof of vaccination for people visiting the site 12 years of age or older, or a negative covid test taken within 72 hours of being onsite. All people 18 years of age and older will have to show identification as well.
