Global Music @ MIT

TheMusic and Theater Artssection provides students at MIT the opportunity to experience the unique language and process of the arts. Faculty and teaching staff help students understand art’s demand for rigor and discipline and its non-quantitative standards of excellence and beauty. A strong, comprehensive program in both music and theater arts—encompassing history, theory, and performance—is taught by faculty and staff of the highest caliber.

Featuring Rambax MIT & Gamelan Galak Tika

Kresge Auditorium

An evening of music and dance from Bali and Senegal, featuring Gamelan Galak Tika (under the new direction of Gusti Komin) and Rambax MIT (directed by Lamine Touré). The program will feature traditional Balinese music and dance, followed by MIT’s Senegalese sabar drum ensemble. Please join these two ensembles for a joyous return to live, in-person performance!In-Person Attendance: To attend this concert in person, you must submit an attestation via Tim Tickets (visitors - see details in your confirmation email) or Covid Pass (MIT Community) that states that you are not currently experiencing Covid symptoms and that you agree to wear a mask at all times. Tim Tickets For Visitors:Upon registering, you will receive a Tim Tickets link in your email confirmation. On the day of the event, please click the link and follow all instructions.
