Kosovo's Future in a Challenging Region: H.E. Vjosa Osmani, President of the Republic of Kosovo

The Republic of Kosovo, Europe&#x27;s most recently established country, has made great strides in its thirteen years as an independent state. The young republic is strongly oriented to the US, to NATO and to the European Union, and it was the first country to respond to the Biden Administration&#x27;s call this summer to receive refugees from Afghanistan. In a national election earlier this year the people of Kosovo spoke loud and clear in support of reform, with a landslide victory that brought new leadership to Kosovo’s key institutions. But the country&#x27;s continuing political and economic progress, and its strong Euro-Atlantic perspective face serious challenges, in a region subject to malign Russian and Chinese influence, as well as resurgent tensions.  Join us as Dr. Vjosa Osmani, a distinguished legal scholar who has lectured in the United States and who served on Kosovo&#x27;s legal team in the case over the country&#x27;s declaration of independence before the International Court of Justice, addresses Kosovo&#x27;s future in a region that poses many challenges.The link to the livestream will be included in the confirmation email.
