Join us for the 2025 January Standard Audition: January 24-25, 2025. The audition will take place at Oklahoma City University's Edith Kinney Gaylord Center: 2501 N Blackwelder Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73106.

This in-person event is your chance to showcase your talents and audition for a spot in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. To be eligible to audition for the dance program, dancers must FIRST begin their Academic Application to Oklahoma City University. Applications for Fall 2025 Admission open on June 1, 2024.


Dance Audition:

Dancers will participate in a tap, jazz, and ballet class followed by a pre-rehearsed solo in a style of the dancer's choosing. Solos are limited to 1 minute.


For Admission and Scholarship Consideration:

1) Complete audition registration by January 12, 2025.

2) Dancers must begin their academic application to Oklahoma City University by January 19, 2025.

3) Attend our Dance with the Stars Day on Friday, January 24, 2025. Event will begin at approximately 8:30AM.

4 ) Complete all components of the dance audition on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The audition will be held from approximately 8:30AM until 4:30PM.

Please note that attendance is required on both Dance with the Stars Day and Dance Audition Day to be considered for admission.


Academic Eligibility Requirements:

Students (domestic or international) must have at least one of the following:

- ACT composite score of 21 or above

- SAT composite score of 1060 or above (Verbal + Math)

- A high school GPA of 3.33 or above, as calculated by the OCU Office of Admissions

Transfer Students: Transfer students are required to submit college transcripts to be evaluated to be eligible to audition as part of their academic application to Oklahoma City University. Transfer students with less than 27 completed semester credit hours of academic courses must have qualifying ACT or SAT scores as described above for entering freshmen and/or a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. Transfer students for all degree programs with over 26 completed semester credit hours of academic courses must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment was founded by recently retired Dean John Bedford and Chairman Jo Rowan to educate, train and prepare dancers, managers, teachers, and choreographers for the American entertainment industry through degree programs offered by Dance and Arts Management Departments. Dance training emphasizes techniques used from Broadway to commercial dance focusing on techniques - tap, jazz, musical theater dance, rhythm tap and ballet (as used in musical theater).

The School offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance, Bachelor of Science in Dance Management, Bachelor of Science in American Dance Pedagogy, Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business.

Admission to all dance degree programs is by selective audition.

The School is located in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Center, a world-class facility for teaching arts management and dance.

Former students and graduates can be found performing, teaching, choreographing or managing throughout the world, from Broadway and L.A. to Tokyo and beyond.
