Honey Judge Training & Certification (Levels 1-3)

The American Honey Show Training Council will be holding their Introductory Honey Judge Training Class at the Lost Antler Ranch just outside of Estes Park, CO, on Saturday May 31st through Sunday June 1st.

Honey Judging is a fascinating, detail-oriented pursuit. If you like to learn, if you like to teach, if you like to see the coolest stuff before anyone else does, honey judging might be right for you! This program is perfect for honey enthusiasts looking to enhance their knowledge and skills. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced beekeeper, our comprehensive program is appropriate for any level of beekeeping experience!

During this event, you'll learn about the science of honey judging, from the basics to advanced techniques. Our expert instructors will cover topics such as

  • food safety, sanitation, and hygiene,
  • proper harvesting, processing, and handling,
  • honey show logistics and administration, and
  • proper judging etiquette, ethics, and techniques.

This class is the first step on the road to becoming an AHSTC Certified Honey Judge! The Intro Training Class (Level 1) is a day-long event. At the conclusion of the Level 1 class, participants will be a certified Honey Judge Candidate.
