The 2025 Summer Intensive Workshop in Biostatistics & Data Science is a week-long, hands-on program designed to introduce participants to foundational and applied concepts in statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence in healthcare. Hosted by the MedStar-Georgetown AI CoLab, the workshop equips early-career professionals, trainees, and interdisciplinary researchers with practical tools to engage with real-world health data. The workshop blends traditional instruction with interactive coding labs and project-based learning, using R, Python, and open-access datasets to reinforce statistical reasoning and analytic workflows. Each day focuses on a core theme—from biostatistical foundations to machine learning, with increasing complexity and opportunity for skill application. The final day culminates in a capstone project, allowing participants to integrate knowledge gained throughout the week and present their findings to peers and mentors. By the end of the program, participants will be prepared to critically analyze data, collaborate with data scientists, and apply basic AI methods in health research settings. The workshop is open to learners at multiple stages and is intentionally designed to support a diverse cohort from clinical, academic, and public health backgrounds.
