Our theme is Our Collective Heritage: Windows and Mirrors. The institute promises face-to-face sessions presented by various experts in curriculum and instructional design that focus on Florida State Statute 1003.42 to meet the needs of ALL students.
This year's scheduled event is as follows:
June 10th: Kickoff, keynote speaker, spotlight speaker, workshop presenter, and concurrent sessions, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Luis Martínez-Fernández is a leading historian of Latin America and the Caribbean. He is
Pegasus Professor of History at the University of Central Florida. He has actively advocated for K-12 teachers and has served on the Board of Trustees of the College Board, the Board of the National Council for History Education, and the boards of several other education and academic organizations.
Alexandra Alessandri is the award-winning author of several books for children, including Isabel and Her Colores Go to School, The Enchanted Life of Valentina Mejía, Lupita’s Hurricane Palomitas, and Grow Up, Luchy Zapata. The daughter of Colombian immigrants, Alexandra is an educator and a poet. She lives in Florida with her husband and son.
