The fourth annual Science of Reading Symposium is a three-day event designed to support and empower Alaskan educators as they connect understanding of reading science to classroom and leadership practices, resulting in increased reading proficiency for Alaska’s students.

Our 2025 theme is “Journeying Together: Shining the Light on Alaska's Path to Reading Success.” Our line-up of renowned speakers and presenters from across the country will join together to focus on:

  • Day 1: "Lighting the Path: Celebrating a Strong Foundation for Success"
  • Day 2: "Fanning the Flame: Navigating Our Challenges Together"
  • Day 3: "Shining Bright: A Future Filled with Promise for Alaska's Students"

This event is open to classroom educators, instructional support staff, school and district administrators, school board members, legislators, community and tribal leaders, parents, and anyone interested in improving reading achievement for Alaska's students.

Once again, we are pleased to offer a simulcast virtual offering of the full Symposium program for those unable to attend the in-person event in Anchorage. Visit the Alaska Science of Reading Symposium website for more information.
