Frequently asked questions

Are children allowed to attend?

Children can attend with adult supervision, but childcare is not provided during the weekend. The guardian/parent is responsible for ensuring that all youth attending the weekend activities are supervised.

Are guests allowed?

Yes, WDVA encourages all women veterans attending to share the weekend with those who are important to them. Please remember though that the retreat activities are designed specifically for women/women veterans.

Will WDVA cover the cost of my transportation and lodging?

Unfortunately, WDVA does not provide transportation or cover the cost of lodging for veterans who choose to attend.

If attending what should I bring?

Great question! Due to the rural location of the equestrian center, attendees should be prepared to get a little dusty :). WDVA will have plenty of refreshments, snacks, sunscreen, mosquito spray, and smiles. A light jacket or blanket may be needed if you plan on attending Smores' by the Fire.

When will the final agenda and list of activities be available?

WDVA is currently finalizing the weekend activities. Please continue to check the Eventbrite page, the WDVA Women Veterans Website (https://dva.wi.gov/Pages/aboutWdva/WomenVeterans.aspx), and our Facebook (https://bit.ly/3TtGjT5) and Instagram (https://bit.ly/4a9q2IL).
