The Department of Social Services, Division of Behavioral Health, in partnership with other state agencies, is excited to host the Third Annual Suicide Prevention Conference on August 1st from 10:00am – 5:00pm and August 2nd from 8:00am – 12:00pm CT. Registration is open now through July 22nd at 11:59pm or until we reach capacity.

A block of rooms has been reserved under the “SD Department of Behavioral Health- Suicide Prevention” at the Sheraton Sioux Falls & Convention Center at a rate of $159/night plus applicable taxes. Reserve your room or call the hotel at 605-331-0100. Rooms available until block is full.

Conference Overview

Join us as we celebrate South Dakota’s impactful suicide prevention work. Through this conference, you will be able to learn more about at-risk populations in South Dakota and be provided with additional tools and resources for suicide prevention and stigma reduction related to mental health.

Featuring speakers in areas of veterans, youth, tribal communities, law enforcement, and the general population as well as those with lived experience of suicide loss or survival. We started the conversation two years ago, let’s keep it going as we work to end suicide in South Dakota.

Organized by

Strengthening and supporting children and adults with behavioral health needs through prevention services, community-based outpatient services, inpatient substance use disorder services, psychiatric hospitalization and services for offenders incarcerated in state correctional facilities. The goal of the continuum of behavioral health services is to foster independent and healthy individuals and families in South Dakota.
