Join us for the 2024 Stiff Person Syndrome Symposium an event specially designed for individuals affected by this rare neurological disorder. The Symposium will be held in a hybrid format: in-person at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport (BDL) in Windsor Locks, CT, on May 4th & 5th and by Zoom on May 4th.

The 2024 SPS Symposium offers an exciting opportunity to connect with fellow patients, caregivers, and the top medical professionals in the field of SPS. You will learn about the latest research and treatment options and gain valuable strategies through informative presentations. Share your experiences, gain support, and find hope in this inclusive and welcoming community.

Join us for an Incredible Event! Here's What to Expect:

Presentations by Duarte Machado, MD, Scott Newsome, DO, and Amanda Piquet, MD, FAAN, and Tara Zier, DDS and The SPS Research Foundation Founder providing valuable insights and the latest advancements in SPS research.

For in-person attendees on day two, Sunday, May 5th, engage in breakout groups. This is a great opportunity to build personal connections, discover best practices, ask questions, share personal success stories, and learn from others with SPS.

Please note that onsite registration and breakfast will begin on both days at 8 am. The Symposium will begin promptly at 9 am.

Self-parking is available in a below-ground garage under the building at a discounted rate for those attending the 2024 SPS Symposium. For daily parking, it's only $5, while overnight parking costs $8. Don't park at the airport's short-term, long-term, or any other parking lots, as you won't get the same discount as you would with on-site parking in the hotel garage.

When should I register? Is there a fee?

Register for the 2024 SPS Symposium as soon as possible. Space IS limited. You must be registered as an in-person or Zoom attendee to participate. If attending in person, each person who is attending must registered individually. There is no fee to attend in person or by Zoom.

Can I register at the 2024 SPS Symposium on the day of the event?

There will be no on-site registration. You must pre-register to ensure we have a great event for everyone.

What should I do if I change my mind about attending?

To cancel, return to this site from the link in your confirmation email . If you are unable to cancel for any reason, please contact the 2024 SPS Symposium Committee at events@stiffperson.org

Is lodging included?

Lodging is not included. Rooms are available at a discounted rate at the event location: Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport , Windsor Locks, CT.

Is food included? I have dietary restrictions; can you accommodate me?

A light breakfast and buffet lunch are included on Saturday and a light breakfast is included on Sunday. The hotel also offers an onsite restaurant. Where can I find information about the event agenda and schedule?

The agenda will be emailed out to participants as soon as it is available.

Will the 2024 SPS Symposium be recorded and will I be able to view it after the event?

Day one of the events at the Symposium, Saturday, May 4th, will be recorded and accessible post-conference.

I booked at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport. Do I need a shuttle to get there?

The hotel is located right at the airport, so you can walk from the gate to the front desk. Wheelchair assistance is available upon request.

What are the check-in and check-out times at Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport?

The check-in time is after 3 pm and the check-out time is before noon.

What are the parking arrangements?

Self-parking is available onsite in a below ground garage under the hotel. We have a reduced rate of $5 for daily and $8 for overnight parking. Avoid using the short-term, long-term, or any other airport parking options as you will not receive the discounted rate.

Is financial assistance available to help cover the cost of attending in-person?
