Conducting undergraduate chemistry research in Southern California this summer?
If so, please join us on Thursday, August 8, 2024, for the annual UC Irvine SoCal Undergraduate Chemistry Symposium, for an exciting day of science where you can discuss and hear the latest about chemistry and graduate programs with your peers from UC Irvine and other research institutions.
The schedule will include:
- A poster session where attendees present their research
- Workshops including tips for success in your research, applying to graduate school, and applying for graduate fellowships
- F lash research presentations and panel discussion by UC Irvine graduate students
- Networking lunch and coffee breaks
All undergraduate attendees are encouraged to bring a poster describing their research. Poster prizes will be awarded. Students may co-present a poster with a co-worker from their lab if appropriate. Please format your poster to fit on a 48"x48" board.
Please RSVP as soon as possible, as space is limited and to facilitate planning. You can edit your response later if you change your decision about presenting a poster. Carpool parking passes will be provided to the first 25 groups who request and whose carpool members (must be 3+ per car including driver). Please email carpool list of 3+ registered members to: lgauf@uci.edu by August 1.
Parking for the So Cal Undergraduate Research Symposium is available on campus in Lot 16H (general/unmarked stalls only) at the University of California, Irvine. The rate is TBA and can be purchased ahead of time online by visiting link TBA. Exact link will be available after July 1.
Please note, there are no live attendants available in or near Lot 16H, which is the closest lot to the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building, where the symposium will take place.
