Join the Short North Alliance at the 2024 Short North Gala as we proudly recognize the individuals, businesses, and organizations who have impacted the Short North Arts District.
In addition to the annual award ceremony honoring neighborhood partners, guests are invited to enjoy:
- A Taste of the Short North: Visit tables and tables of appetizers and desserts provided by various Short North Arts District restaurants. Culinary partners to be announced!
- Two-Course Dinner: Enjoy a seated dinner prepared by the culinary team at the Hilton Columbus Downtown

- Silent Auction: Bid on fabulous prizes provided by Short North Arts District businesses and partners

Event Dress Code: “Short North Chic” – AKA cocktail attire with a twist. The Short North Arts District is all about creativity, which means you can make Short North Chic mean anything you want by adding your own personal flair.
2024 SHORT NORTH GALA AWARDS
The Short North Alliance honors various individuals and groups at the 2024 Short North Gala. The community nominates honorees in all categories. If you know someone who deserves recognition, submit your nomination here: bit.ly/gala24nominations
Categories include:
- Architectural Star: Honorees in this category have contributed substantially to the architectural quality, preservation, or design of the Short North Arts District.
- Business Beacon: Recognizing those who have served as catalysts to bring a broad range of visitors to the District and have inspired others to invest in and nurture the Short North Arts District.
- Community Partner: Recognizing those who have deep collaborations with the Short North Arts District, significantly advancing the District's success in commerce and quality of life.
- Unsung Hero: Recognizing individuals who enrich the Quality of Life in the Short North and Columbus through their volunteer efforts and contributions behind the scenes to advance Art, Community, Diversity, and the Short North Spirit.
- Sanborn D. Wood Award for Leadership and Service: Awarded to a former board member of the Short North Alliance or Short North Special Improvement District who has demonstrated exemplary leadership as a steward of the Short North Arts District, the award is named after the godfather of the modern Short North Arts District, Sanborn D. Wood (known affectionately as Sandy).
