2024 PROXY Fall Series: Here

PROXY is a temporary two-block project located in San Francisco which seeks to mobilize a flexible environment of food, art, culture, and retail within renovated shipping containers. PROXY is both a response and solution to the ever-changing urban lifecycle, existing as a temporary placeholder and an instigator of evolving cultural curiosities in art, food, retail and events. Our design embraces the vast diversity of a city and encourages the rotation of new ideas and businesses as well as innovative public art installations which come and go like new visitors at the site.HERE FOR NOW creates centers of cultural vibrancy through temporary art and design interventions. As an arts institution without walls, it provides equitable access to enrichment that spans public and private spheres. Through collaborations with artists and arts organizations, HERE FOR NOW works to educate and inspire, leaving a lasting legacy of optimism, promise, and a renewed sense of community.  HERE FOR NOW is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.Together, PROXY + HERE FOR NOW create something special for temporary places.

The 2024 PROXY FALL SERIES presents: <h1>Here</h1>Directed by <a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2483574/?ref_=tt_ov_dr" title="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2483574/?ref_=tt_ov_dr" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bas Devos</a>, 2023“‘Belgian Drama’s Poetic Gaze Is Low-Key and Profoundly Affecting” -Sheri Lendin, The Hollywood Reporter Set in beautifully photographed Brussels, Belgian director Bas Devos’ Here follows Stefan, a Romanian construction worker, who is soon to leave on vacation. While getting ready for his trip, he empties his fridge and makes a soup with the vegetables that would otherwise go rotten. He distributes the soup to his friends and family as gifts. On the day he is about to leave, he meets Shuxiu, a Belgian-Chinese woman preparing a doctorate thesis on mosses. Her attention to the near-invisible stops him in his tracks. Film starts at 7:45pm. As always, please come early to claim a good spot, enjoy a <a href="http://www.fortpointbeer.com/" title="http://www.fortpointbeer.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Fort Point Beer</a> (or cider!), and non-alcoholic tonics from our very own <a href="https://juiceshop.com/" title="https://juiceshop.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Juice Shop</a>. And pick up some hot dogs on your way to the show from our new festival sponsor <a href="https://www.hayzdogsf.com/menu" title="https://www.hayzdogsf.com/menu" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hayz Dog</a>, just a block away from PROXY at 364 Hayes! All proceeds from beverage sales support free outdoor cinema at PROXY! At PROXY, we celebrate diversity both on the screen, behind the camera, and in the audience.
