Course Description
In today's age of oxycodone addiction, have you considered the rat's cage and conditions alongside the psychological and physiological addiction potential of the drugged water inside the rat's cage? Who reading this summary has ever been prescribed oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, or other controlled substance for pain (back pain, wisdom tooth removal, post-surgery) and found themselves addicted? Or never could have become addicted?
Learning Objectives
· Differentiating between "pain" and "chronic pain" and the levels where either can exist
· Using the Therapeutic Order as a tool for hope and practical application in the office and patients' lives
· Understanding "tips & tricks" of pharmacy (and homeopathy) to guide the deprescribing process
· Recognizing which pain medications can be abruptly discontinued and which ones must be s-l-o-w-l-y tapered. (Spoiler: almost ALL must be slowly tapered. You'll learn how to do this safely, competently, and confidently.)
· Using the Medical History as an overlay to the patient's particular story
About the Presenter
