About this Event

This one-day event will convene individuals in the state of New Jersey dedicated to preventing lead poisoning and improving housing health, efficiency, affordability, and stability for families. Convening sessions are designed to advance awareness of emerging practices statewide in lead poisoning prevention and healthy housing programs, including the use of  funding resources for intervention services, innovative partnerships supporting integrated housing and lead poisoning prevention programs, and equity-driven practices that reduce the burdens of unhealthy housing conditions. Event attendees will collaborate to identify opportunities and strategies that will further advance primary lead poisoning prevention, hazard reduction, and healthy and efficient housing through scaling of successful community-based initiatives. Input from participants will be applied to an updated version of the New Jersey Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Action Plan.

This event will offer attendees an opportunity to increase their awareness of national, state, and local best practices in lead poisoning prevention and hazard remediation, healthy housing, energy efficiency, electrification, and home repair services, including the integrated housing service delivery model.

Topics include:

  • Lead Screening, Community Engagement, and Education
  • Lead Hazard Inspection & Remediation Program Partnerships
  • Indoor Air Quality Improvements for Asthma Control
  • Braiding Funding Resources to Support Holistic Approach to Lead Poisoning Prevention and Healthy Housing
