Make a Difference Day is an event hosted by the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley and its priority is to bring the community together through volunteer service while promoting beneficial change in the city.On this special day, each volunteer will be appointed to a specific project, such as assisting with home improvements, city beautification, landscaping, and food sorting around Monrovia. A couple of projects that have been done in the past were when volunteers painted the Rotary bandshell in Library Park and when participants at Santa Fe Middle School planted vegetation, improving the school's physical appearance. These projects are important because they encourage citizens to be a part of the efforts that upkeep the City of Monrovia and also help to promote involvement within the place they reside.
