Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States! We are pleased to call you our neighbor and hope that you will support this event as a vendor, sponsor, or attendee. Juneteenth celebrates a point in African American history that change the direction of our future and transcended generations and is a MUST for our community to remember.

The Juneteenth Anchorage Citywide Celebration will be marked with celebrations, guest speakers, entertainment, education, learning our history and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long overdue. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society.

(Vendors can do Saturday and or Sunday and vendors can register for 1day now and upgrade 2 days later if they wish)

$100 for non food vendors 1 day $175 for non food vendors 2 days

$150 for food vendors for 1 day $250 for food vendors for 2 days

(food vendors must be permitted through the MOA's health department . Call 907-343-4200 you must have all proper permits submitted by June 1, 2024)

PLEASE READ: ALL VENDORS MUST BRING THEIR OWN TABLES, CHAIRS AND TENTS AND WILL BE GIVEN A 10 BY 20 SPACE (equal to a parking spot and a half). IN ADDITION, VENDORS WILL BE PLACED EVERY OTHER SPOT TO SUPPORT SOCIAL DISTANCING AND PROTOCOLS AND GIVEN EXTRA ROOM. There will be overnight security on site to ensure 2-day vendors and their positions are watched after and protected. Vendors are required to ensure any canpocies comply with fire resistant policies as defined by the MOA Fire Marshall.

Juneteenth Anchorage is an annual event celebrated in Anchorage, Alaska for over 30 years and will be held the week leading up to the actual Juneteenth highlighted by the following activities during :

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

 From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.

Today  Juneteenth commemorates  African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week,  and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family        gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment,   self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long over due. In cities across the country, people of all   races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in  our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society.
