Join us for the 16th annual Indiana School Health Network Conference! This year’s theme, “Seeds of Hope: Growing a Strong Future for Hoosier Kids“, symbolizes the nurturing of positive change and growth in the health and well-being of Indiana’s children. It highlights the importance of providing them with the support, opportunities, and resources needed to flourish, be healthy, and succeed. The conference will encourage discussions and initiatives that highlight innovative approaches, community involvement, policy changes, and evolving opportunities.

Attendees will be asked to select the breakout sessions they would like to attend when registering. Pre-selecting breakout sessions ensure adequate seating. Session selections can be changed day of conference. Please review Breakout Session Abstracts prior to registering.

Breakout Sessions

In addition to the five keynote sessions, there are 23 breakout sessions organized by five learning tracks. The learning tracks include:

Administration

  • Focused on school policies that relate to School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) and/or best practices for administrative operations related to the health and wellness of students.

Physical & Mental Health

  • Focused on school practices that relate to SBHCs and/or best practices relating to a specific physical, behavioral or mental health issue that can be influenced by prevention, education or intervention.

Outreach & Enrollment

  • Focused on strategies to identify and enroll individuals or populations in healthcare coverage programs and/or services.

Policy & Advocacy

  • Focused on complying with/or implementation of existing and new laws, regulations, and/or mandates related to children. Includes advocacy practices for legislation that impact schools and other initiatives that affect children.

Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC)

  • Focused on overall health and implementation of the WSCC Model to establish greater alignment, integration, and collaboration between health and education across the school setting to improve each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

Registration for pre-conference sessions is required.

The Indiana School Health Network offers continuing education (CE) credits at no cost for the following:


Nursing: This continuing education activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association is an Ohio Board of Nursing approver of continuing education. (OBN-001-91)

Social Work: The Indiana School Health Network will apply for 14 hours of continuing education (CE) hours for social work (LBSW, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LAC, LCAC) to the Indiana University School of Social Work.

CHES: The Indiana School Health Network will apply for 14 hours of continuing education (CE) hours for Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

Library Professionals: The Indiana School Health Network will apply for 14 hours of library education units (LEU) for library professionals to the Indiana State Library.

A certificate of attendance will also be available.
