About this event

Join us for the 67th Annual Capitol Hill Restoration Society House and Garden Tour, which will feature nine beautiful homes and gardens, and three interesting semi-public buildings, all within the Capitol Hill Historic District. The tour is a two-day event.

A refreshment break with treats from local vendors, at the historic Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital, is included. In addition to the tour of the homes, gardens, and buildings, an architectural tour of the Hill Center will be offered both Saturday and Sunday.

The artwork on this year's catalogue and poster was created and donated by Capitol Hill photographer, Rindy O'Brien.

Capitol Hill Restoration Society was founded 69 years ago to help preserve and protect the historic neighborhood’s architectural and residential character. Our mission has been, and continues to be, to uplift the community we live in through education, preservation, and events in celebration of the diverse community and history of the Hill.

We welcome new members! A one-year membership starts at $35, and all members can purchase discounted tour tickets. For more information: https://app.joinit.com/o/chrs-capitolhillrestorationsociety

The event will be held rain or shine!

Are children invited?

Children are welcome and do not require a ticket under the age of 12. All children must be supervised by an adult. No strollers allowed in the homes or gardens.

Are pets invited?

Though we like our animal companions, due to potential allergies and large crowds, they are not allowed on the Tour.

Why is it two days?

There are 12 locations and we don't want you to rush - please take your time and enjoy our lovely neighborhood! However, all the locations can be visited in one day on foot if necessary.

Is there parking?

The tour is meant to be done on foot. There is limited on-street parking. The Hill Center is visible from the Eastern Market Metro stop and is also on the major metrobus 30 lines.

Can I wear shoes in the homes?

Only a few homes require attendees to remove their street shoes. A space to do that will be provided.

Are there refunds?

No refunds - we are a non-profit and all funds support Capitol Hill Restoration Society community activites.
