Franklin Garden Club (founded in 1953) is a branch of the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association, Inc. (WNFGA). This national organization was founded in 1914, and is organized into four main Divisions, with Michigan being the largest.
The WNF&GA is a national organization that also participates in an international United Nations effort to assist peoples throughout the world that are in desperate need of basic food and shelter. The WNF&GA actively participates in the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) program “Women Feed the World”. This effort builds on the work women in 64 countries do in raising food for their families and hence strengthening the bonds of community and mutual support. Teaching gardening and agricultural skills, as well as methods for local food sustainability promotes independence. Learn more at http://www.wnfga.org/.
