SINGAPORE OUT AND ABOUT ACTIVITIES

User-paid group activities will be available while Chapter Officer Training sessions are in progress. Activities are priced separately from the Learning Programme and Evening Event Ticket.

OPTION 1

Gardens by the Bay

Time: 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Price: $85 USD per person
Includes: transportation, English-speaking guide, admission tickets

Visit one of the most iconic structures that represent Singapore as a garden city and be immersed in all things green, nature, technology, and architecture in one space at Gardens by the Bay. Your guide will be able to lead you through the two conservatories offering details about its concept and seasonal display. You will also have some time to take in the beauty and explore at your own leisure.

OPTION 2

Singapore Zoo

Time: 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Price: $80 USD per person
Includes: transportation, English-speaking guide, admission tickets

Head west to Singapore’s unique wildlife and nature destination where each zoological park focuses on distinctive nature-based experiences and animal encounters.

Start at the Singapore Zoo where your guide will begin with an introduction of the park followed by a tram ride to the different zones. From Australasia to Wild Africa, each environment replicates diverse animal habitats around the world. You will have some time to explore each zone on your own before the group moves onto the next.

23 and 24 April 2024

Following GLC’s agenda, Out and About activity options will be repeated on both 23 April and 24 April. This will provide general members, SLPs, and guests several opportunities to attend the user-paid activities.

OPTION 1

Lost but not Forgotten: the Peranakan Culture of Singapore

Time: 10 am – 12:30 pm

Price: $90 USD
Includes: transportation, English-speaking guide, admission tickets, Popiah Making at a private Peranakan space

Discover the culture of Singapore at the Peranakan Museum and take a deep dive with a visit to the Joo Chiat & Katong district in the East. You will see the well preserved colorful shophouses & terraced houses that are ornate in their façade, decorated with unique motifs and tiles. End the program with a visit to the Straits Enclave for a Popiah (fresh rolls with turnips, peanuts, and prawn) where you can experience one of the most popular snack items that is uniquely Peranakan.

OPTION 2 (23 April ONLY)

The Jewels, Treasures, and Treats of Singapore

Full Day Tour: 10 am - 3:30 pm

Price: $290 USD

Includes: transportation, English-speaking guide, private workshop with snacks, lunch at Lei Garden, admission tickets, drink at Sky Bar.

Portrayal of indulgence and richness is not just restricted to just jewels when in Singapore. It can also be projected in the way Singaporeans treat themselves and those they love through food, drinks and treats.

Start the day with a private appointment with one of Singapore’s leading jewellery designer, Carrie K at her new jewellery atelier where you will participate in a gem and jewellery styling workshop. Be immersed not only in the different kinds of gems but also discover her unique concept of modular jewellery. Before the visit, you are encouraged to bring or wear-in your own piece and discover on how you can add the Carrie K design pieces onto your existing piece through her modular collection in the styling workshop

Continue the day with an introduction of the iconic Chijmes on the way to a delectable dim sum lunch at one of Singapore’s award-winning Chinese restaurants where you will enjoy an array of artful pieces of delicate dim sum dishes. End the experience atop Marina Bay Sands Skypark, in-style with a Singapore Sling in hand to have a toast as you close your day of luxurious experiences.

The National Orchid Garden
Time: 1:30 - 3 pm
Price: $55.00 USD

Be enthralled in the urban oasis which is located minutes away from Orchard Road, the shopping belt of Singapore and discover the National Orchid Garden.
Since 1859, orchids have been closely associated with the Gardens and the best of the best are elegantly displayed in their full glory. With over 1000 species and 2000 hybrids on display, the splendour of these gorgeous blooms is absolutely a sight to behold.

Please note:

• Singapore Out and About activities are only open to EO Members who are officially registered for GLC, and their SLPs or guests.
• Out and About activities take place during Chapter Officer Training (COT) sessions. If you are in COT, you’re expected to attend your assigned GLC/COT programming.
• Registration for the Out and About ticket is non-refundable. Members and SLPs who cannot attend the event may transfer their registration to another registered Member or SLP of a registered member attending GLC.
• Out and About Activities are subject to a minimum number of attendees by 21 March 2024. If the minimum is not met, the activity will be cancelled and your fees will be refunded.
• Activities will take place rain or shine. There will be no refunds due to heavy rain. However, in the event of rain, we will make efforts to adjust the schedule/locations.
