About this event
Now in its 6th Year, the AIA Illinois EP Summit is the annual gathering of Emerging Professionals and Young Architects throughout the State of Illinois. Featuring topical content related to leadership, design and service, the Summit plays a pivotal role in the organization's mission to champion the profession of architecture across Illinois. This year, join us in Historic Downtown Springfield for an exciting weekend of educational sessions, fascinating tours, and peer networking that is sure to leave you feeling energized and empowered!
Host City: Springfield, Illinois
Springfield, the capital of Illinois, is just a short Amtrak Ride from Chicago. Once you arrive, you’ll find a destination rich with history and culture. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the USA, lived in Springfield with his wife and family before moving to Washington, D.C., as President in 1861; and President Barack Obama kicked-off his campaign on the steps of the Old State Capitol. From its Route 66 legacy and Lincoln history to its state-of-the-art museums, unique architecture, wonderful art galleries and exciting food scene, Springfield is a charming capital city.
Host Venue: Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
Experience history like never before. Step inside key moments in Lincoln's life, from triumph to tragedy. Explore immersive displays and shows that drive home the human costs of slavery and war. Connect with Lincoln and his family through artifacts that can't be found anywhere else in the world. You'll feel like you're walking in Lincoln's shoes.
Hotel Hotel: The President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, a DoubleTree by Hilton
Located in Springfield's Historic Downtown, our Host Hotel is Walking Distance to all items on our agenda and many of Springfield's Sights. AIA Illinois has negotiated a Group Rate of $112/night , booking information to follow.
