Yes. This is a unique aspect of the festival. All CNPF rehearsals are open to the public. No food or drink are allowed in rehearsal spaces. Please refrain from bringing any writing/ reading materials or recording devices. These are works in progress. To visit, please email matthew@cnpfsteamboat.org.
A reading is a performance by professional actors without a set or costumes. There is a narrator for each piece who reads the stage directions.
CNPF focuses on new play development. Our festival gives playwrights the time and space to take their works to the next level. Over the course of a week, the collaboration with actors and directors brings new perspectives for the playwright who will then be able to gauge an audience's reaction.
Steamboat Springs is home to Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp, the oldest continually running performing arts camp in the country and where CNPF started. The combination of nature, art and recreation combines here to create a magic that can only be felt here in Steamboat Springs.
