Oshun's Garden - Vision & Mission.

The Brunch in Oshun's Garden is an annual fundraiser that started in 2019. It began as an event simply intended to address the lack of Black women-centered events on Maryland's Eastern Shore, and to create a community of women committed to supporting their fellow sister. From day one, the brunch has proven itself to be an experience beyond what we could have ever imagined. Black women are given room to take off their capes, reset, feel, laugh, dance, and fellowship. What sets our brunch apart from others is that the sole purpose is to create a safe and judgment-free space exclusively for Black women to just be, without male gaze, white gaze, or the need to size each other up. We do not seek to profit from the brunch and have been donation-based since day one. Since our inaugural event, Oshun's Garden has transformed into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to transforming the cultural and generational norms that perpetuate interpersonal and structural violence against Black women.
