The City of Austin Economic Development Department will be awarding $4.5 million in total cultural funding through the 2024 Austin Live Music Fund. The program offers $3.5 million to Austin’s professional musicians, bands, and independent promoters for $15,000 or $30,000 grant awards and $1 million to live music venues for $30,000 or $60,000 grant awards to support a range of promoted music activities. Grant awards may cover eligible expenses for live and online music events, cultural tourism marketing plans, studio and video production, merchandise, music broadcasting, and more.
The application for the 2024 Austin Live Music Fund opens Tuesday, May 21 at 10 a.m. and closes on Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m.
Eligible "Professional Musician" and "Independent Promoter" applicants must live in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area—which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties—and "Live Music Venue" applicants must be located in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). All applicants must market and promote grant funded activities to visiting and potential Austin tourists and convention delegates.
Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and scored according to limited access to services, local economic impact, programming and outreach, accessibility, and past access to City of Austin support.
