2024 Annual MAHDC Symposium Program Schedule

About this event

  • 9 hours 30 minutes

The Maryland Association of Historic District Commissions (MAHDC) is pleased to announce its 2024 Annual Symposium, Climate Change, Disaster Resilience, and Underrepresented Communities. The program will feature presentations by local, state, and national experts on climate change, preservation, and conservation. Session topics include historic preservation, disaster resilience, hazard mitigation, collaborative conservation, equity, and underrepresented communities. The event will conclude with a presentation by a textile artist and an architect whose innovative work explores the use of creative Placemaking to honor intangible memory.

The annual Prince George's County Preservation Month Reception will take place following the MAHDC Symposium. The event is free and all symposium attendees are welcome, but registration is important in order to ensure an accurate count of the symposium participants who plan to attend the reception. Here is the link to register for the reception: pgplan.org/2024historic

AIA CEU credits and AICP/APA CM credits will be available to AIA and APA members for the symposium sessions.

The 2024 Annual MAHDC Symposium has been financed in part with federal funds from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, made available through the Maryland Historical Trust. However, the contents and opinions presented do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of these agencies.
