About this event

Hello!

This year is the 18th Annual JP Recovery Foundation Golf Outing and we would like to thank you for your continuous support year after year! Our golf outing's focus is providing support to John Paul Filippi and we have achieved this mission as well as supported others like him for over a decade now, while also funding scholarships at the college and high school level in our local community!

We’d also like to invite you to support our efforts in making this year’s golf outing a success!

The Annual Golf Outing costs $125 per golfer or $500 per team of four.

  • [New This Year] Early Bird: $120 per golfer or $480 per team of four if pre-paid and registered by August 3, 2024
  • This price includes 18 holes of golf, a JP Recovery Foundation giveaway item, light lunch, buffet dinner, and all day drink refreshments.

With the recent complications due to the pandemic, we are asking that everyone register and pay in advance to reserve their foursome.

Why We Golf:

  • In 2007, John Paul was in an unexpected disaster that changed our lives forever.
  • During his senior year of high school, John Paul was a passenger in a car accident where the vehicle he wasin lost control and crossed the median into oncoming traffic after being struck from behind by another vehicle.
  • John Paul suffered a severe brain stem injury from this accident, which ultimately led to his current state asa functional quadriplegic.

What is the JP Recovery Foundation?

  • The JP Recovery Foundation was initially created by his family and family friends to assist with John Paul’s medical expenses and has now evolved into something much more!
  • Because of your generosity, we are not only able to help John Paul live a healthy life in his current state, but we have helped many other families annually that have been through similar situations.
  • Also, 2024 will be our seventh year funding an aviation scholarship that will be awarded to a special recipient in honor of John Paul at CCBC.
  • In addition, it will be our sixth year awarding a band scholarship to a special Senior (or Seniors) at Central Valley High School!

How can you help?

  • By golfing personally, inviting a foursome, or even a corporate sponsorship!
  • Gift Cards, Contributions for the Basket Table, Time, Prayers, Well Wishes, and Facebook/Instagram Shares. All are welcome and appreciated!
  • If you're near the Pittsburgh area and like to golf, we'd love for you to safely see you on the green, September 21, 2024!

Our Ask:

John Paul, His Family, and the JP Recovery Foundation Team

Organized by

On January 24th, 2007, John Paul was in an unexpected disaster that changed our lives forever. He was the passenger in a car accident where the vehicle lost control and crossed the median into oncoming traffic where they were then struck from behind by another vehicle.

John Paul Filippi suffered a severe brain stem injury. John Paul was in a coma for a short period of time and his current medical status has left him as a functional quadriplegic.

John Paul’s recovery has been long and hard on him and his family. Although John Paul does answer questions, he is not communicating freely or consistently.

Fast forward to today, John Paul is still alive and well but the recovery process not only took a lot of time, it created many expenses for the Filippi family needed to provide the proper care for John Paul. These expenses include: medical equipment, physical therapy, future medical procedures, modifications to the home, as well as in home nurses to keep John Paul healthy day to day.It costs about $12,000 annually to pay for these necessary expenses which the family hosts an annual fundraising golf outing each year to cover those costs. The golf outing costs about $18,000 to host before the family sees any of the money needed for that following year. We are hoping to raise enough to cover John Paul's medical expenses and fund annual scholarships to lessen the stress and weight of this financial burden for the family and make a positive impact in our community Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! And Remember, "No Amount is Too Small to Help John Paul!"Thank you!
