About this event

This year's United Nations World Oceans Day (UN WOD) celebrates the theme Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing. In celebration of the 2023 event, the United Nations are joining forces with decision makers, scientists, private sector executives, civil society representatives, indigenous communities, celebrities and youth activists to underscore how earth is more than it may seem and finally put the ocean first.

The annual event will again take place on Thursday 8 June 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and be broadcast live on UN TV. UN WOD 2023 is hosted by the United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, Office of Legal Affairs (DOALOS) in partnership with Oceanic Global supported by Panerai with contribution by Discover Earth.

There is limited space for the in-person event so please RSVP through the Eventbrite registration form by Sunday 5 June 2023 at 12:00pm EDT to confirm your attendance.

*The Eventbrite event page cannot be used as a ticket to enter UN Headquarters in New York. All attendees must be registered through Eventbrite and complete the registration form to attend the in-person event. Confirmed attendees will need to present proof of an eTicket (QR code) with government issued photo ID upon arrival . Once confirmed, attendees will be issued a day pass to enter UN premises.

*When completing the required Eventbrite registration form, please ensure that your full name is registered as it appears on a government-issued identification.

*This Eventbrite page cannot be used as a ticket for entry to the UN Headquarters, all registrants will receive an email confirmation with a QR code to confirm the entry. Please ensure you have received this confirmation in-advance of 5 June 2023 to ensure you have the needed documentation for entry.
